"Archaeology for the People: A Review of Public Archaeology in China," March 16 at Pitt.

The University of Pittsburgh's Department of Anthropology will host Tao Wang of Capital Normal University (Beijing) and his talk "Archaeology for the People: A Review of Public Archaeology in China" on March 16.

"Public archaeology" has become a fashionable buzz-word in China in recent years. As an experienced and active presenter of archaeology to the public, Dr. Wang will talk about the current situation, problems and prospects of public archaeology in China. He will also discuss activities carried out by the Center for Public Archaeology at Capital Normal University.
The talk starts at 3:30 pm in 3106 Posvar Hall (map) and is free and open to the public.
