Pittsburgh Taiko beginners' workshop, Saturdays from March 31.

A Pittsburgh-area Japanese drumming group, Pittsburgh Taiko, will offer beginners' workshops Saturdays this spring, starting March 31.
Each week, we will do some calisthenics and drills, work on improving skills, and learn some simple taiko repertoire.

No experience is necessary!
. . .
Over the course of the workshop, you will learn basic movements and techniques used to play taiko.

Drumsticks will be provided, as will earplugs (although you’re welcome to bring your own if you have some).

This class is designed for adults and students in high school or older.
Dates are March 31, April 7, April 14, and April 21, and classes run from 2:00 to 3:30 pm. The cost is $40 for the general public, $25 for students (9th grade and older), and $20 for Japan-America Society of Pennsylvania members. Classes are held at the Winchester Thurston School's Lower Building in Shadyside (map). Additional information is available at the Pittsburgh Taiko website.
