The 2026 Pittsburgh Dragon Boat Festival will be held on October 10 at Pittsburgh Brewing Company in Creighton.
The 8th Annual Pittsburgh Dragon Boat Festival will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 8:30am-3:30 pm at Pittsburgh Brewing Company in Creighton, PA. Hosted by Pittsburgh Hearts of Steel, this event helps support Breast Cancer Survivors in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. This festival brings together the exciting sport of dragon boat racing, entertainment, food, and fun family activities. Mark your calendars for a spectacular day where community spirit meets fierce competition on the beautiful Allegheny River. This year’s festival features spirited races with community teams, sport teams, youth teams, para-paddlers, all cancer survivors, and dedicated breast cancer survivor teams battling it out for glory. Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or a curious newbie, or there to cheer as a spectator, everyone is welcome to join in the fun.Pittsburgh Brewing Company, producers of Iron City and IC Light, is located at 150 Ferry St. in Creighton (map).
Form a team with 20-24 of your friends, family, and co-workers (Community, Corporate and Youth divisions) and get ready to make waves! Each team will receive a one-hour practice session the week before the race, and all necessary equipment will be provided. We also welcome Club teams and have had teams from DC, KY, NJ, OH, and PA compete in past years! But that’s not all! The festival promises a full day with cultural performances including the lion dance, family- friendly activities, vendor booths, and mouth-watering food trucks. All proceeds from the Pittsburgh Dragon Boat Festival will benefit Pittsburgh Hearts of Steel, an all-breast cancer survivor dragon boat team founded in 2017. With members ranging from ages 24 to 80, Hearts of Steel brings together survivors from diverse backgrounds to promote full and active lives through the empowering sport of dragon boating.
