The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired Hoy Jun Park (박효준), along with Diego Castillo, in a trade with the New York Yankees for Clay Holmes. If Park makes the Major League roster, he will be the third Korean in Pittsburgh Pirates history, after Chan-ho Park in 2010 and Jung-ho Kang from 2015 through 2019, though the Pirates have had several other Korean prospects and players in their system over the decades.
"Hoy" is how his name has been romanized, though the Korean corresponds to "Hyo" (효). Though I don't know the details of Park's name, inconsistencies like this do sometimes happen if a family member makes a mistake applying for a passport.
